Sara Sally\, an award winning artist and author\, has had the great fortune to study glass with many gifted teachers both in America and Italy.  She holds a BA in Glass Formation from Park University\, Parkville\, MO. She has many honors and awards\, and has taught flameworking all over the world. She has also been a presenter at the glass symposium at Sars-Poteries\, France. \nSara Sally’s work has been published in many books and magazines including The Flow\, Bead and Button\, and Glass Art Magazine\, to name a few. SUMMARY:Freeze and Fuse with Boro Class with Carrie Ann Strope
DESCRIPTION:Carrie Ann Strop of Calyx Glass specializes in fused glass art and mosaics\, integrating stained glass and lampworking techniques at times. She is an Integrated Learning Specialist on the roster of teaching artists with the Nebraska Arts Council’s Artists in Schools and Communities program and the Creative Aging Through the Arts program. She works with students k-12\, as well as adults\, creating individual and collaborative art pieces for installation in public and private spaces\, generally culminating in an opening reception for sharing the project and process with the community. For residencies\, students generally create an individual project to keep\, and then collaborate on a larger project that is installed in the school permanently. \nWe are delighted to welcome Carrie Ann to our Classes Series\, and learn from her the art of making and using Freeze and Fuse pieces made with borosilicate glass. SUMMARY:Sterling Bead Caps Class with Kieu Pham Gray
DESCRIPTION:In this class\, you’ll learn how to create sterling silver bead caps to enhance your glass\, lampwork beads\, and pendants. We’ll work with various sterling silver stock to design unique bead caps that pair beautifully with Bali beads. As a bonus\, I’ll demonstrate how to solder with your glass bead in place using a Smith Little Torch or a Gentec equivalent. Class time is 1 to 5 PM Eastern.
