This swap has ended
The purpose of this bead swap is to provide members and guests an opportunity to experience the fun of swapping beads and the relationships that can be forged with fellow artists.
• In order to participate you must be able to make and submit by mail AT LEAST 10 beads that have been properly annealed, have no sharp/dangerous edges, and are sturdy enough to survive being shipped twice and worn by a new owner should they so desire.
• You will send your beads and will receive back the same number of beads you send in.
• In order to participate, you must be able to send U.S. funds by PayPal or a check that will be used to pay return postage.

HERE IS HOW YOU PARTICIPATE IN THE SWAP:
• Make 18 beads, if possible. Your beads can all be of the same style, or different bead styles. Keep in mind beads are made by different participants of all different ability levels. All that is required is that you make beads you are pleased and happy to share. This is not a competition!!
• EACH BEAD should also be labeled with your name, contact info (like email, FB or website) and anything else you care to say. You identify your bead by attaching a card with a string, or place the bead inside a bag with your contact info on a sticker, or whatever you think of that identifies it as your creation. Be sure to package each bead individually and carefully with wrapping that can be reused, like bubble wrap, tissue etc.
• All individually wrapped beads should then be packaged into one box. We suggest you use a small US Priority Mail box to send your beads; which is flat rate, so there are no surprises in cost, and the boxes are free. Insurance is included for value up to $50.00.
• Mail the package to Kelly Six, to be mailed no later than May 23, 2020.
PUT YOUR NAME AND ADDRESS INSIDE THE BOX SO I KNOW WHERE TO SEND YOUR SWAP BEADS!
• If your beads are not received by May 28, they may not be included in the swap and returned to you.
• After you have mailed your beads, send me the amount of money you paid for postage. I will use that money to send the swap beads back to you. You can send funds to a friend (no fee) through Paypal or include a check, money order, cash (you will not get change), or a click n ship label in with your beads when you mail them. If you have any individual concerns, please contact me at flglassdragons@gmail.com. Make checks and money orders payable to Kelly Six.
Check out the website https://www.pirateship.com/ for some reasonable shipping rates.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT:
• I will create packages and send them to each participating member. The beads will be mailed out as soon as possible.
• When you receive the swap beads, open them, admire, and fondle them. Try to have an open and receptive attitude about the beads you receive, it is not all about the beads, it is about the connections between members. Think about the work that went into making them and getting them into your hands.
• There will be a thread started on the general Facebook page for photos. Let us know when everyone has received their beads, as to not ruin any surprises. After everyone has received their goodies, start posting photos of what you made or received.
SMALL PRINT:
• The swap groups are randomly assigned; there is no guarantee about the level of each participant’s ability.
• Only commit if you are confident you can participate. If you don’t send in your beads, you are disappointing your fellow members who will receive fewer beads. Maybe you have some beads on hand right now? Why not set them aside and keep them as your swap backups, in case life gets in the way?
• Keep in mind, Kelly is a volunteer with her own life, and is doing the best she can. Be kind.
*Update
The swap was so much fun, both making beads to swap, and receiving all of the beads that others had made. We had such a good time, we decided to do it again!
Photos!
Susan’s beads were such a hit, there were “how did you do that?” queries from several swappers.
She was kind enough to make a photo montage for us, showing the progression from base bead to adding dots of white, then adding transparent color over the white.
