Ongoing Challenge #16

Jungle Animals

by Janie Jones

Our theme for August is “Jungle Fever” and there are so many possibilities for a challenge. We’ve all seen fantastic sculptured beads of elephants and lions, comical giraffes and hippos, colorful flamingos and parrots and they are all absolutely wonderful. But let’s break it down a bit and get back to some basics.

This month’s challenge is: “Make a Jungle Animal Bead”. Any kind of jungle animal bead will do, really – it’s your choice. What’s possibly one of the first layered or animal beads most beginners learn? A black & white zebra bead, right? . . . next, maybe a tiger striped bead, or even a leopard bead. I will demo 2 of those at the monthly meeting, Aug. 14th @2PM. Perfect beginner beads and great for Beads of Courage too. Options for a bit more ‘tweaked’ version explained as well, I hope you’ll attend the meeting to watch all the demos

Please show your own variations on these basic jungle animal beads or any other jungle creature you’d like to share. If you would detail your process, even better! Share your photos on our Members Facebook page beneath this Monthly Challenge in ‘Comments’ here. Remember, this is for all skill levels, and it’s never a competition – Let’s see ‘em.
Thank you in advance for participating.

Janie Jones – remember to send me your ideas!
