My brain is on fire – I may even explode with knowledge. So, my 2nd glass conference was incredible! I told someone I met that the glass community is like a giant hug. I met the most beautiful and genuine artists and they embraced me from day one.
My workshops were wonderful. I took Joy Munshower’s Sea Nuggets and Sculpture class and I’m pretty sure I have a girl crush. She is amazing as a wildlife artist and a great instructor. I’m in awe when I fondle those beads. I also took Deb Crowley’s Fish Sculpture class and learned these subtle enamel techniques that will add a whole new dimension to my sealife visions. Again another excellent teacher, so her Glass Stock conference is on my radar.
I also had an incredible experience in Laura Simones bead painting class and that’s where I made my most successful conference bead by painting a portrait of the famous beatnik author Jack Kerouac on a provided glass disk. It was hard as hell. Laura said I was an overachiever, well the disk was the size of an oreo cookie but I had the determination to persevere and I was happy with my results. Laura’s guidance in the whole process contributed to my success … so, I had a wonderful time and now I need to light my torch.
