Ongoing Challenge No. 10

“Raking”

Suggested by – Nina Maduro Dusendau

By Janie Jones

Some of us use metal to rake hot glass, some of us use glass – either way some pretty awesome results can happen. This month’s Members Challenge is “Raking” suggested by Nina Maduro Dusendau from California. Thank you Nina for being the second member to ‘volunteer’ an idea for all skill levels.

In keeping with our theme this month “Love Is In The Air”, the obvious choice would be raking hearts, but there is so much more that lends itself to this particular technique. How about making animal stripes, leaves, feathers or something abstract? It even works well when a bead blunder occurs too …. rake it, encase it and put a pig on the surface for Beads of Courage! The possibilities are practically endless.

Show us your results with raking hot glass and tell us which you use to rake it: metal or glass. If you need a little help with this technique, try our new Mentorship Program. Then share photos of your efforts in comments below the Challenge No. 10 post on the Facebook Members Group page. We’d all love to see them.

To view this challenge or post your photos, members can access it on our Facebook Members Group Page.

Please take one minute to contribute to the Dragons by submitting an idea for a Member Challenge, we need new suggestions for every month.
