Kelly will build on skills previously discussed to show us how we can utilize free Google products to make a basic website. She will walk us through the process of purchasing a domain name and developing a website for less than $15 a year.
Kelly will also share how to add text, images, videos, calendars and more. You do not want to miss this opportunity.

Kelly Six, a web designer as well as President of the Glass Dragons, started her talk with tips about purchasing a domain name. She explained how the domain name will be used and gave us tips on how to choose a name that will work best as well as the reasons why. Next Kelly moved on to the information needed to create your own simple website.
There are questions Kelly urged us to consider before beginning, such as what type of website we want, what purpose it will serve, and how to choose something that would meet our needs. She moved on to how to create a basic web presence using “Google Sites”, which is available to anyone with a free Google account for the price of a domain name (currently $12.00 per year).
Kelly discussed some of the various options available with Google Sites; things that allow for personalizing the site to fit the needs of the owner. She showed us how to create menus and pages common to many websites, such as Home, Galleries, About and other pages. She showed us how we could add other features too — a calendar, Jotform or a Paypal link if needed.
After the talk, Kelly opened up the floor for questions, such as what the difference is between having a Facebook page for a group, and having a Google Site, and having an actual website — and the benefits and downsides of each. She also talked about when it would be better to spend the money to have a basic website (such as WordPress) instead of a free Google Site.
