Ongoing Challenge #34

Glass Candy

By Janie Jones

“Sweet as Candy” is the theme for February – most appropriate since it’s the month for Valentine’s Day.

Remember ‘candy hearts’ with little written messages on one side? Was happy to find them still available! Little candy hearts, slightly flattened, straight sides, unlike the usually preferred puffy hearts frequently made by lampworkers. Softer pastel colors used for these tiny hearts, with short messages written on the surface: luv, hug, be mine.

Lettering can be difficult on glass, especially on a small surface. If lettering is something you haven’t tried yet, maybe you will tackle it for this challenge! But if you’re not quite ready for that, make any kind of glass candy.

Maybe some chocolates like these. Either way, have fun doing it! That’s what these challenges are all about – all skill levels sharing with all members!
