The Glass Dragons

The mission of The Glass Dragons is to promote the diverse arts of glass beadmaking, fusing, and other glass techniques; to be socially responsible through support of worthy causes; to provide a nurturing environment to all members; and foremost, to have a good time together through our common passion for glass.

Who Can Join:

Anyone with even the slightest spark of curiosity about glass is welcome here—whether you’re a brand‑new explorer, a devoted fused‑glass enthusiast, or a fire‑breathing lampworker with a deep desire to grow your skills and make new glassy friends. If glass excites you, inspires you, or even just intrigues you, come join us.

What We’re About

Who Are The Glass Dragons:

Glass Dragons members come from all around the globe, with skill levels ranging from full‑blown Glass Rock Stars to brand‑new beginners who haven’t yet purchased a torch or set foot in a fusing studio. We’re a fun, friendly community that loves to share our enthusiasm for all things glass—lampworking, fusing, and everything in between.

We’re a social bunch who interact A LOT. We swap ideas, watch presentations together, and dive into lively discussions about what we’ve learned. Everyone here simply loves glass. Students join us to learn, share, and experiment. Professionals come to unwind, recharge, and enjoy being students again. Whether you’ve been working with glass for 20 years or 20 hours, this is a place where egos get checked at the door and curiosity takes the lead.

Offer skill‑building programs that support members at every stage of their glass journey
Post live and online social events to inspire creative relationships among members
Strive to be an invaluable resource of creative inspiration
Provide an ongoing list of resources for glass artists

Why We Do It:

Why do we do this? Honestly—fire and glass. What could possibly be more fun? At the heart of it, we’re here because we love this craft. We love the glass itself, the friends we’re making, and the way we show up for one another. What makes our club truly different is that you’re meant to interact with it.

If you want a group where you skim a newsletter, make a couple of things, and post a photo now and then—we can be that. But we can also be so much more. Many of our members—though not all, because introverted dragons are absolutely welcome—thrive on the connection. They join the chats, share ideas, swap photos, and cheer each other on. That sharing and caring is what makes this place fun. It’s what makes us stand out.

We’re a community. And the more you participate, at any skill level, the stronger and more inspiring we become together.

The Glass Dragons have been around for years, but we’ve recently ignited into a globally connected community of lampworkers, fusers, and glass lovers. Beads of Courage

Get involved with a worthy charitable cause – “Dedicated to helping children with serious illness record, tell and own their stories of survival.” The Glass Dragons is dedicated to supporting this charity, we hope you will too.



Challenges

Join in on the fun – creative challenges are constantly going on with The Glass Dragons from multiple sources. There is no competition, only creative thinking.



Monthly Meetings

Glass Dragon meetings are held every month. When possible it is important to attend these meetings. Membership voting and future events are determined at these meetings … and there’s usually a demo at the end.
