April 14, 2018 Meeting – Open Torch Beads of Courage Day!

The monthly meeting of The Florida Glass Dragons is coming soon! Mark you calendar for April 14th, 2018.

Date: April 14th 2018

Place: Crystals Place – address in the directory

Time: 11:00 a.m. to 5 p.m….or beyond

…we will have a fire pit and food!

Food Suggestions: Light Lunch/ Dinner Dishes/ whatever you would like to bring. We will be grilling and have vegan, vegetarian, and meat options:) Bring a side dish if you’d like.

Program: Open torch, Beads of Courage, Raffle, Cool micas to play with and you can take some home if you’d like.

This is an OPEN HOUSE so all are welcome to come try their hand at the torch, make beads for beads of courage or just mingle with other artsy folks. You do not need to be a glass artist to come! … the focus is on glass, friendship, FUN and FOOD!

And this is just Italian glass! There are other glasses as well! Boro is a popular medium too and that is seen in a lot of pipe making.

We will have 8-10 torches up and running so there will be plenty of room for everyone to try their hand at it or to make beads:)

Crystal is working on a cool project to maybe do during the meeting. We will try to do this project at Crystal’s..because it is a little messy:) It is the new dripping cement planters. Very cool…very easy:) Crystal will supply all the materials…but if you have a funky shaped bowl or just a random item you would like to make a planter with…bring it with you:) This may not happen…as she is just playing with the idea as we speak:) But they are sooo coool we are going to try to make it work:)

How about a garage sale! Bring your glassy stuff you no longer want. There will be a raffle . So bring your glassy friends and help us spread the word! And don’t forget to bring your Beads of Courage Donations!
