An Afternoon with
Jeri Warhaftig
End of Day Bead
Thursday, January 21, 2021
Jeri Warhaftig is the creator of the puffy mandrel and she also makes amazing chains and etched pendants. Jeri is a “Jill of All Trades” and a master of most of them, and has graciously created a recording of her demonstration.
Jeri had to postpone her original date to visit with us, but any time she can visit with us is a special occasion and this one is no exception. Make plans to be here with us and watch the master perform her magic with her “end of day” bead demonstration!
Join us to learn how Jeri makes beautiful beads using the things left on the work bench at the “end of the day.”

After the Demo Update!
(If you missed it, remember that members can watch the recorded demo on the Facebook Members’ Page, check it out! And if you aren’t a member but would like to be, visit the Membership page)
To begin her presentation, Jeri gave us a look around her studio, where she turns her glass into tiny works of art. After the studio tour, we watched Jeri take a selection of this and that from her work table to make one of her “End of Day” round beads.
She shared some insight into working with copper mesh and copper cutouts to add interest to our beads too. Jeri emphasized that this style of bead is very versatile, and every bead you make like this will look a bit different from any other bead made this way.
For her next bead, she took the same idea in a slightly different direction and created a bicone bead that included bits and pieces left from her other projects. It was great to see that beauty can be created with the random materials left on our work benches at the end of a torching session.
We had a great surprise after the round bead demo was concluded. Jeri’s adorable granddaughter Lorry assisted by drawing the name of the winner of a “Be Kind” bead, which Jeri had generously contributed – congratulations Crystal!
