Spotlight on Juliet Page!
Juliet Page is a practicing engineer by day and Lampwork artist by night. She has been making Lampwork glass beads since 2001 in her Flameworking studio which overlooks Mill Creek, on the Magothy River. Juliet is an avid supporter of Beads of Courage and 100% of the proceeds from her work is donated to nonprofit organizations such as the Watershed Stewards Academy and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. She has studied glass Beadmaking in the US, Italy and Germany and her glass work has been featured in galleries, museums and publications.
Juliet lives in the Annapolis, Maryland area with her husband Greg, where they enjoy boating on the Chesapeake Bay. They recently acquired a 43 ft sport fisher by Post yachts, but their idea of fishing is ordering fresh seafood off the menu at a dockside restaurant! Juliet also enjoys sailing on Serenity, her dad’s boat, which she helped build in the 1970s. When not boating or making beads, Juliet can be found riding her Honda Rebel motorcycle or restoring and racing her 1970 Corvette. Her daily drive is a 2019 Sebring Orange Corvette … and not to be outdone, her husband is putting the finishing touches on his 1965 Corvette pro street hot rod!
Since speed is a bit of a theme in the Page family, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Juliet’s day job as an Aerospace Engineer finds her working in the field of Supersonics, specifically as an expert in Sonic Boom! She’s busy supporting the new NASA X-59 X-plane, designed to create barely audible sonic booms. In the future it will be flown over communities in the US to gather people’s opinions about low-boom sounds!
