Heather Behrendt is a lampwork glass artist from Rochester, NY. She started with stained glass in high school and bought a hothead torch on a whim a couple years later and has been working with hot glass since 2008. Heather is a full time lampwork artist.
Inspired by patterns, symbols and funny cat pictures, Heather uses her skill in soft glass stringer design to translate these into glass. She is most well known for her stringer drawn cats and music pieces.
Heather has shown her work in several exhibits and has presented at the ISGB Gathering. Her art has been published in magazines, books and exhibitions. She also teaches soft glass at the Rochester Arc and Flame Center in Rochester, NY.
In this presentation, Heather will be building a lampwork baseball inspired marble using soft glass. and will go over different ways to work off mandrel and how to use a marble mold. She will finish off the presentation with questions and answers about making marbles.
