Making Glass Pens
Did you know that pre-made nib stock is available from suppliers?
The secret is to not overheat the glass and pull it kind of cold. This will keep it from losing the grooves. The groves are what hold the ink.
There is also a way of making your own nib cane. Try using a sharp kitchen knife or razor tool and impressing grooves into the rod. This is done before or after it is sealed to the pen body. After the nib is attached to the pen body, you pull it out slightly and form a point. When the pen is finished, sand the nib a bit with regular sandpaper, pumice stone or sanding block.
