Etsy 101 – The Basics

Have you considered opening an Etsy store to offer your lampwork (or other creations) for sale, but have been hesitant to take the plunge? Join Michelle Malone as she helps us navigate selling on Etsy. She will be discussing some of the ins and outs of creating and maintaining an Etsy store successfully.
After the Presentation
Michelle Malone introduced us to the specifics of setting up an Etsy account. The process involved following basic instructions by Etsy to lead you from page to page, answering questions as to how you want to have your account ‘work’ for you. But she also gave some tips about what she has learned by having an Etsy account, such as:
- choosing a name
- good photography and how photos can impact your success
- how key descriptive words affect your shop, the listing, and your standing on Etsy.
Michelle also touched on the various tools available for your Etsy store, such as record-keeping done by Etsy for the shop owners, which would come in very handy. She also gave us the names of some Podcasts she found that could help us to get hints and information on having a successful store. Michelle had lots of great things to share that will help someone just getting started.
