Storing Glass –

Odd Sizes

This month we are featuring a few ideas on glass storage. I know many people use pvc tubes or fence railing cut into 12-16” lengths and place them horizontally in shelving to hold rods, and that works great.

But here are some other ideas:

For long rods, Leslie Anne Knowles Bitgood places them in pvc pipes standing upright in a wooden box, a great space-saving solution!

Roberta Connelly says she keeps her “longish shorts” in silverware holders. Stringers can be stored in large straws (like the kind you use for bubble tea). Simply staple or glue one end closed and place stringers inside. You can also cut a small section off one end, ½ inch, then fold up one end and slip the little band you just cut onto it to keep it folded.

You can also close the other end the same way (brought to you from a camping website that suggests this for taking small amounts of spices along on campouts or cookouts).

Robin Baum uses a k-pod carousel. With the right sized jars, they are a handy way to store frit and murrini.

Thanks for all these great ideas! Until next time… happy melting everyone!
