This is an OPEN HOUSE so all are welcome to come try their hand at the torch, make beads for beads of courage or just mingle with other artsy folks. You do not need to be a glass artist to come! … the focus is on glass, friendship, FUN and FOOD!
If you don’t know what lampworking or glass bead making is:
Here is a demo for basic shaping by Jeannie Cox:
Here are some tutorials from Eskie Beads : http://www.eskiebeads.com/free-tutorials/
And this is just Italian glass! There are other glasses as well, like Boro (borosilicate), which is more resistant to thermal shock and therefore used in functional work.
We will have 8-10 torches up and running so there will be plenty of room for everyone to try their hand at it or to make beads:)
How about a garage sale! Bring your glassy stuff you no longer want. Also, there will be a raffle, so bring your glassy friends and help us spread the word! And don’t forget to bring your Beads of Courage Donations!
We can’t wait to see you there.
RSVP if you like so we know how many people will be there….but just feel free to show up if you’d like to as well:) It’s a party after all:) !
