Tips for Recording Your Demo
Are you interested in recording a demo for the dragons? Here are a few tips that might help you produce a top-notch video:
- list the tools needed
- list the glass used (COE) and the colors used
- provide a photo of the finished bead, (or whatever you’re demonstrating ) or show a previously made piece
- periodically show the progress made during the process – a close up of all sides
- tape a didymium lens to whatever you’re using to film your demo
- film a short practice demo to check visibility, sound, lighting etc.
- speak up and speak clearly, use a headset if you have one, and don’t forget to smile–we can hear it in your voice
- film as close as possible to make sure your process is clearly visible
- make sure your hands (or head) don’t block the camera lens
- if you’re filming from overhead, place a marker on the table to keep the process in view of the camera lens at all times
- have a drink handy in case you need a sip during filming
- decide if you’ll answer questions during or after your demo
- lay a towel on your table to eliminate the noise of replacing a tool
- mute your phone or iPad (whichever you’re not using to film) and silence the house phone while filming.
