Options for Murrini Storage

and Rod Labeling

A metal board makes a great place to keep all those CZs or murrini so they are easy to get to, and easy to see. Metal magnetic bottom containers with clear tops are readily available and they just stick on with ease. Mine are right behind my torch so I can reach them when I need them.

Do you have a favorite way to label your rods? We would love for you to share it with The Glass Dragons. I will go first, and look forward to your sharing of your ideas.

I label my rods with the manufacturer abbreviation, color number and color name. I label each rod, because once it is on my work table, a label on the storage slot is of no use to me.

I use labels from OnlineLabels.com, specifically order number OL1930AT. These labels are “aggressive” labels – meaning the adhesive will stick to slick things such as glass, without having to use extra tape. There are 160 labels per page and I use the website’s Maestro Label Designer to type the information so it is readable. The label designer program gives you information on how to add multiple, different labels on one sheet. You don’t have to type every label, just copy and paste until the start of the next rod’s information.
